“북한재건을 위하여, 준비된 한 사람을 찾습니다”
“A Call to Individuals Prepared to Rebuild North Korea”
1907년 일어났던 평양 대 부흥은 사도행전 이 후 가장 큰 부흥이었으며, 하나님께서는 평양 대 부흥을 통하여 이 땅에 큰 축복을 주셨습니다. 하지만 1950년, 우리의 죄악으로 말미암은 6.25 전쟁을 겪은 이후 지난 60 여 년 동안 그 축복은 반쪽 짜리로 이 땅에 이어져왔습니다.
Through the Great Pyongyang Revival in 1907 which is considered to be one of the largest spiritual movements since the book of Acts, God has graciously blessed the Korean peninsula. However, due to man’s shortcomings and sins, the Korean War erupted in 1950, causing the Korean people to suffer and rifting apart God’s blessings for the past 60 years.
북녘의 형제·자매들이 고문, 노예, 노동, 기아, 공개처형 등의 고통 속에서 하나님만을 찾으며 울부짖을 때 그 모습을 보고 가슴 아파하시며 찢어지는 고통에 눈물 흘리시는 하나님의 모습을 우리들은 이제껏 애써 외면해 왔습니다.
As a result, our brothers and sisters in North Korea continue to cry out and suffer from torture, slavery, labor, starvation and public execution. God has been shedding tears of sorrow and His heart has been aching in terrible anguish while looking upon His children, and we cannot escape the truth that our indifference to these wailings is an act of denying God Himself.
예레미야 34:8-17절 말씀처럼 하나님께서는 지난 날 대한민국에 "자유와 생명"을 주셨던 것처럼, 우리 또한 북녘의 형제·자매들의 "자유와 생명"을 위하여 선포하고 행동하기를 간절히 원하고 계십니다. 하나님께서는 행동치 않는 저희를 인내하며 바라보시고, 그들에게 직접 "자유와 생명"을 주시기 위하여 천안함·연평도 사태 등의 사건들을 통하여 저희들에게 경고를 보내고 계십니다.
As written in Jeremiah 34:8-17, God is now calling people to “proclaim freedom to our countrymen” and to act on behalf of our brothers and sisters in North Korea, just as He mercifully gave South Korea "freedom and life." God has waited for us too long amidst our silence, and through such tragic incidents such as Cheonan and Yeonpyeongdo, He has been sending us warnings and “wake-up calls” that will ultimately lead to the "freedom and life for all North Koreans.

역대하 7:14절의 말씀처럼 이제 하나님께서는 우리 모두가 고통 받는 북녘의 동포들을 위해 스스로 낮추고 기도하며, 요엘 2:15 처럼 갈급한 마음으로 회개할 것을 명령하고 계십니다. 이를 통해 하나된 대한민국에 요엘 2:18-31과 같은 축복을 부어주시길 간절히 원하고 계십니다.
In accordance with 2 Chronicles 7:14, God is now exhorting all of us to humble ourselves, pray, and repent with an urgent heart for the unbearable sufferings of our brothers and sisters in North Korea. Through such actions, God will pour out His blessings upon Korea in a similar manner as written in Joel 2:18~31.
이제 우리가 마태복음 22:39절의 말씀처럼 북녘 동포들의 고통을 아파하고, 내 자신처럼 사랑하는 마음으로 행동 한다면 하나님께서는 대한민국 국민들과 북녘 동포들을 진정한 화해로 이끄실 것입니다.
Moreover, if we love our North Korean neighbors truly as ourselves, share their sufferings, and take actions as we are called to do in accordance with Matthew 22:39, genuine reconciliation between the people of both nations will arise under God’s mighty hand.
시편 82:2-4처럼 대한민국의 크리스천들은 북녘 동포들을 위하여 쌀과 돈을 주는 것보다 “모든 북녘 동포들의 자유와 생명”을 위하여 갈급한 마음으로 마태복음 25:31-46의 말씀처럼 그들의 고통 받는 영혼에 관심을 가지고 일어나길 원하고 계십니다.
As it is written in Psalm 82:2~4 and Matthew 25:31~46, God desires that the Christians in South Korea act beyond giving the North Korean people food or money, but like Him, ache for their sufferings souls and to arise on their behalf with a sense of urgency for their “freedom and life.”
2011년 3월 1일 오후2시, 북녘동포의 자유와 생명을 위하여 시청광장에 믿는 자들이 모이게 될 것입니다. 그곳에서 우리 스스로가 북녘 동포의 고통을 방관한 죄를 회개하고, 하나님께 부르짖는 시간을 갖고자 합니다.
On March 1, 2011 at 2pm at Seoul City Hall Plaza, we will join together for the freedom and life of the North Korean people. This will be a time to arise, cry out to God, and repent of our sins for our callousness to the immeasurable suffering of our brothers and sister in North Korea.
우리가 이 일에 대하여 회개하고 하나님의 뜻을 구한다면 전례 없던 영적 각성과 대한민국을 휩쓰는 대부흥과 통일은 곧 오게 될 것이며, 하나님의 약속이 성취되는 것을 목도하게 될 것입니다. 우리 앞에 펼쳐지는 역사의 일부분에 동참 하라는 ‘하나님의 부르심’ 에 귀 기울여 주십시오. 그리고 이 시간 귀 교회를 통해 하나님께서 가지고 계신 놀라운 계획을 성취하는데 동참해 주시길 부탁 드립니다.
We proclaim that the day of unprecedented spiritual awakening, great sweeping revival, and reunification for Korea will soon surely come, and God’s promises will not fail. Accept God’s call to take part of this unfolding of history and fulfill the great plans that He has for us and through the Church in this generation.
